–noun
a short sword or heavy dagger with a wavy blade, used by the Malays.
Malay warriors with keris.
In ancient times it was used as a weapon. A warrior who is well known in martial arts called silat carried Keris as a weapon. Nowadays we still see people carry Keris in their waist belt. You may think these people are strong and skillful warriors. Well, the credit goes to the outfit. Realistically, only men who are dressing for their wedding day. Just to impress the bride.
And I must say-- the bride was impressed! ;)
Those dastardly Portuguese! Real men fight with keris. j/k
